Hello Treacle
This Sunday, 30 October, I'll be setting up the Mr.PS stall at the Treacle Market in Macclesfield.
Not only will there be lots of food and drink stalls selling local produce, but also arts & crafts and live music.
And.... the conker championship!
The market runs from 10am - 3.30pm, and takes over the historic centre of Macclesfield.
Why Treacle? I hear you ask... Apparently Macclesfield is known as "Treacletown" due to the centuries old accident when a horse-drawn wagon overtuned spilling its load of treacle over the cobbles. Whether the townsfolk all ran out to lick it up is stuff of urban myth.
Anyway I'm sure there'll be plenty of goodies to pick up this Sunday, come down if you are in the area.

Tea towels make great mini aprons!
Over in Japan, my stockist Mister Magpie has been running children's sewing workshops using British designer tea towels.
Here's a Mr.PS Coffee & Cake tea towel re-made into a mini apron!
The children at Chateau Bon Bon learnt all about taking afternoon tea, and also learnt some nifty hand-sewing skills. You can read all about the event here.
I think these aprons look so sweet, and now I'm even thinking maybe of printing up some small aprons for mini cooks.

Shelf Sunday Five
What's on the shelf this week?
Hornsea Tapestry storage jars.
And two little jugs. I love the shape of the beaker jugs, and the pale blue glaze.
We picked up this set in a charity shop in Wales. Initially I thought 'cross stitch' and indeed it is called tapestry. A very 70's pattern which was designed by Sara Vardy.
Hornsea pottery's rise and fall is covered on the Hornsea Museum site.

My nana always told me that you shouldn't have yellow flowers in the house, and of course yellow roses mean the end of an affair... but how could I resist this beautiful pot? Two wrongs do make a right!
