Shelf Sunday: Blue Sky Thinking
I have dug out my old enamel mug for this week's Shelf Sunday, a twist on the classic, which my brother gave to me.
Everywhere I go at the moment I am seeing Falcon enamelware...
... In today's Observer magazine....
... brunch at Trove ...
... toast time at North Tea Power.
Established in 1920, Falcon Enamelware is certainly having something of a revival.
I expect you could say this due in part to the rise of "austerity chic", the trend for home baking fuelled by the Great British Bake Off, or really just because it's really lovely stuff.
Indeed everything on their website is looking highly desirable, and most stylishly packaged.
I am really regretting not snapping up the pile of bargain vintage pie dishes I saw at a car boot sale this summer! So for now I'll just happily hang on to my little blue mug.
